Position Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program
Compensation: $55–$65 per session (depending on experience)

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, energetic, and engaging STEAM Investigation Lab Instructor to lead an interactive after-school enrichment program where students solve mysteries through hands-on science, engineering, observation, and critical thinking.

Each lesson presents students with a new case to investigate using experiments, evidence analysis, and collaborative problem-solving. Through exciting forensic-inspired challenges, students develop scientific thinking, teamwork, and creativity while exploring real-world STEAM concepts in a fun and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging STEAM investigation lessons using provided curriculum.
  • Prepare evidence kits, experiment materials, and hands-on activities before each class.
  • Guide students through scientific investigations, experiments, and evidence-based problem-solving.
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive and supportive strategies.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and follow site procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in group settings.
  • Comfortable leading hands-on STEAM activities and scientific investigations.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Reliable, organized, creative, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to facilitate inquiry-based and collaborative learning experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in education, STEAM, science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching hands-on STEAM, science, maker education, or project-based learning.
  • Interest in forensic science, scientific inquiry, or investigative learning is a plus.
