Assistant Center Manager

Assistant Center Manager (Education Operations & Family Engagement)

Location: Mission District, San Francisco, CA

Schedule: Part-Time (22–25 hours/week)

Compensation: Starting at $30/hour with a comprehensive 90-day performance review. Based on performance, leadership, and demonstrated commitment, compensation may increase to $32–34/hour. Additional performance incentives and future leadership opportunities are available as the center grows.

About the Role

This is a leadership-track position designed for someone who enjoys working with children, building strong relationships with families, and helping a small business grow.

During your first few months, you will receive hands-on training in our educational philosophy, daily operations, and management systems. As you demonstrate leadership and proficiency, you will gradually take on greater responsibility and play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the center.

Our long-term goal is to develop this role into a Center Manager position for the right individual.

What You'll Do

Student Success

Support students during class sessions.

Observe student progress and provide encouragement.

Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.

Help ensure instructional quality and consistency.

Family Engagement

Welcome and build relationships with families.

Answer parent questions professionally and compassionately.

Assist with student orientations and enrollment appointments.

Follow up with prospective and current families.

Deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Operations

Assist with opening and closing procedures.

Prepare instructional materials and student work.

Maintain accurate student records.

Coordinate daily administrative tasks.

Support scheduling and operational organization.

Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional center environment.

Leadership

Lead by example with professionalism and integrity.

Support and mentor classroom assistants.

Help improve systems and operational efficiency.

Take ownership of assigned projects.

Grow into increasing leadership responsibilities over time.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in education, tutoring, childcare, customer service, or office administration.

Experience supervising or leading a small team is a plus.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Familiarity with the Mission District community is a strong advantage.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not required.
