Student Instructor

Job Title: Student Instructor / Club Advisor
Programs: After-School Clubs, Summer School, Saturday Programs

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic students pursuing a career in education to join our team as Student Instructors. This is a great opportunity for future teachers to gain hands-on classroom experience while working with students in a supportive, engaging environment. We're seeking candidates with an interest in teaching STEM, Art, Sports or Literature.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging lessons or activities in your subject area (STEM, Art, Sports or Literature)
  • Serve as a club advisor for after-school programs, guiding students through hands-on projects and activities
  • Support summer school instruction, helping students stay engaged and build skills during the break
  • Assist with Saturday program sessions as needed
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with lead teachers, staff, and families regarding student progress
  • Maintain classroom management and ensure student safety at all times
  • Prepare materials and resources needed for lessons and activities

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Education or a related field (or actively working toward teacher certification)
  • Interest or background in STEM, Art, Sports, or Literature instruction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, creative, and adaptable approach to working with students
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to scheduled program hours
  • Previous experience working with children preferred, but not required

Schedule

  • After-school club hours (days/times TBD)
  • Summer school (weekday hours during summer session)
  • Saturday programs (as scheduled)
