Remote Event Planning & Hospitality Internship (unpaid)
Please note: You can apply within Handshake but also need to complete this form.
Stand out from your classmates before you even graduate.
Are you a hospitality or event planning major looking for a flexible remote internship that helps you build a portfolio that will impress employers? Instead of graduating with only classroom projects and event set-up/server experience, you'll leave this internship with published work that demonstrates your creativity, planning skills, and initiative—giving you something tangible to showcase during job interviews.
Easy Event Planning (EEP) is building one of the web's largest party planning resources, helping readers plan birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, and other celebrations in record time. As an intern, you'll help create real, published content while learning the latest AI and digital marketing techniques used by modern businesses.
What You'll Do
You'll virtually plan themed events by:
- Curating high-quality product recommendations from partners such as Amazon, Etsy, and other leading retailers.
- Using AI to help create detailed event planning guides covering decorations, party supplies, favors, food, activities, and more.
- Creating visual inspiration galleries that help readers bring each party theme to life.
By the end of the internship, you'll have contributed to a large collection of published event planning content that you can proudly reference on your resume and discuss during interviews.
What You'll Learn
In addition to strengthening your event planning skills, you'll gain hands-on experience with:
- AI-assisted content creation
- Digital marketing and SEO
- Affiliate marketing
- Content strategy
- Online publishing
These are valuable skills whether your career leads to event planning, hospitality management, venue marketing, destination management, or even starting your own business.
Who We're Looking For
This is a highly competitive internship designed for proactive, self-motivated students who enjoy taking initiative and working independently. Because you'll create content that will be viewed by thousands of readers, we're looking for students who take pride in producing thoughtful, high-quality work.
This is a fully remote internship, allowing you to work from home and set your own schedule, including evenings and weekends if you choose. Most communication takes place through Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and you'll have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with EEP's CEO throughout the semester.
This is an unpaid internship.
