Middle/High School Academic & Executive Function Tutor

Location: In-Person at Devon Rossler Tutoring, 315 Village Square Orinda, CA  

Employment Type: Part-time (2-10 hours a week) 

Job Overview:  

Devon Rossler Tutoring is seeking a part-time tutor to support middle and/or high school students. Tutors meet consistently with the same students each week, building strong relationships that foster academic growth, confidence, and independence.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and knowledgeable educator. The ideal candidate has broad academic proficiency and is comfortable supporting students across a variety of subjects—including math, science, English, and history—while helping students develop strong executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, study strategies, and planning.

Tutors provide individualized academic support based on each student's needs, whether that means reinforcing subject-specific concepts, assisting with homework and test preparation, improving writing skills, or coaching students to become more organized, independent, and effective learners.

Qualifications:

-Experience teaching or tutoring

Responsibilities:

-Successfully plan and teach engaging, effective tutoring sessions with students.

-Document each tutoring session to keep in communication about content covered the student’s progress.

-Be in communication with admin regarding scheduling, students' progress, milestones.

-Work collaboratively  with admin regarding scheduling, planning session content, and students' progress.

Skills:

-Patience, building a good rapport with students and families, excellent communication skills

-Efficient, responsible, punctual, dependable, and hard-working

-Passionate about helping students grow and learn

-Open to receiving and implementing feedback

Compensation:  

Hourly wage based on experience, qualifications, and fit ($25-$40).
