We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Guitar Instructor to lead engaging after-school enrichment classes this fall. This program introduces students to the fundamentals of guitar through interactive, hands-on lessons that foster creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Students will learn essential guitar techniques, including proper playing posture, chords, strumming patterns, rhythm, finger placement, and basic music theory while developing coordination, listening skills, discipline, and self-expression. Lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible for beginners while encouraging students to grow at their own pace.
Whether you're a guitarist, music educator, performer, college music student, or someone who enjoys sharing a passion for music, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners.
Curriculum guidance, lesson plans, and instructional support are provided so you can focus on delivering an engaging and memorable classroom experience.
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging guitar classes in a fun, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
- Teach foundational guitar skills, including chords, rhythm, strumming techniques, finger placement, and basic music theory
- Guide students through songs, musical exercises, and collaborative activities
- Encourage creativity, confidence, discipline, and self-expression through music
- Help students develop listening skills, coordination, timing, and musicality
- Adapt instruction to accommodate different skill levels and learning styles
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom where every student feels encouraged to participate
- Monitor student progress and provide positive feedback and encouragement
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure proper care of instruments and materials
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared and ready to deliver an exceptional music learning experience
What We're Looking For
- Experience playing guitar and a strong understanding of music fundamentals
- Passion for music education and working with students
- Strong communication and classroom leadership skills
- Patient, energetic, dependable, and professional attitude
- Ability to motivate and engage students in a group learning environment
- Comfortable leading beginner-friendly guitar instruction
- Prior teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp, youth program, or music instruction experience is a plus but not required
- Background in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or related fields is highly encouraged
