Great Books/Humanities Teacher

Cathedral High School is a Catholic diocesan high school of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter located in Houston, Texas. Opened in August 2022, we are a growing high school seeking a joyful and dynamic teacher for the foundational courses in Trivium and to teach within our Catholic Culture curriculum (integrated humanities). Our academics are rigorous and ordered to reason and faith at the service of our shared vocation to holiness.

As an Ordinariate school our classical, liberal arts curriculum is structured around the four pillars of Sacred Worship, Sacred Wisdom, Sacred Music, and Sacred Art. Accordingly, we seek teachers who understand the unity of truth and are able to situate their course material within the Western tradition in unison with the rest of the curriculum, at the service of a life of faith, and for the cultivation of virtue. Applicants should be knowledgeable and enthusiastic, capable communicators and well-organized.

Applicants should possess a graduate degree in a related field including English literature, History, or in Classical education, and a depth of knowledge of the subjects to be taught, as well as have a passion for teaching and both the ability and the desire to mentor young people.

All faculty are expected to live a faithful Christian life, attend daily Mass with the students, and sign an oath of fidelity.

This full-time position requires the ability to teach mastery of the English language through grammar, logic, and rhetoric, within the context of our integrated humanities curriculum. Trivium, history, and literature are the foundation of our Catholic Culture course sequence.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
