Biology and Chemistry Teacher

Pittsburgh, PA

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for a Biology & Chemistry Teacher position at Mt. Lebanon High School, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

This is a full-time, on-site, contract (permanent) position, effective with the start of the 2026-2027 school year on August 7, 2026.

In order to be eligible to apply, the candidate must hold an active Instructional Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in at least one of the following subjects:

Biology 7-12
Chemistry 7-12

Applicants with pending certifications through the PA Department of Education may be considered with college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations.

Please note that entry onto the salary schedule is capped at Step 4 for individuals with prior K-12 teaching experience.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:

Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
