Job Summary: Paralegal – Probate Matters

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Paralegal with a preferred background in probate law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of estate administration, court procedures, and legal documentation related to probate matters. You will play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all phases of the probate process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of probate cases, including the administration of estates and trusts.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as petitions, inventories, accountings, and notices with probate courts.
  • Review wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage case files and track deadlines, court dates, and document submissions.
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and court personnel regarding case status and necessary documentation.
  • Conduct legal research related to probate laws, estate planning, and court procedures.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, and other third parties to obtain asset information and assist in estate valuation.
  • Draft correspondence and legal memoranda under attorney supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in handling sensitive client matters.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or relevant legal training strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of probate procedures and court systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
