Clinical Research Coordinator 

 

Program Description: The Department of Health Sciences and Policies at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks a skilled Clinical Research Coordinator to assist in our recently funded grant to increase awareness of lung cancer screening among screening eligible African American/Black New Yorkers; CLEAR-Lung: Community-Level Effectiveness to Advance Reach in Lung Cancer Screening.  The goal of the program is to compare two community-based education programs to encourage lung cancer screening.  The program seeks to identify barriers that individuals might have in getting screened and works to make it easier to understand why these screening tests are important.  

 

Position Description: As an integral part of our referral management operations, we are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to help advance this effort. Knowledge of program development, health care policies and procedures, public health issues, community outreach and engagement and health education planning; including education evaluation is important. Responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight and management of the project. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Study investigators, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
    • Understanding the goals and aims of CLEAR
    • Conduct community outreach to engage community- and faith-based partners
    • Responsibility for regulatory materials include all IRB needs
    • Coordinate activities across all 3 program sites
    • Conduct community education programs
    • Maintain all data

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • At least 3 years of research experience including with African American/Black communities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask a robust workload. 
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Tableau. 
  • Must be highly energetic, Flexible and be able to work as an integral team member.
