About Us: Avi I.T. Inc. is on a mission to establish a foundation for computer science education among all backgrounds and experiences. We are dedicated to mitigating the diversity gap in the computer science field and alleviating the digital divide by bringing high-quality, accessible STEM education directly to students.
The Role: We are looking for passionate, knowledgeable STEM Educators to join our team. You will facilitate our specialized courses at partner organizations, providing hands-on instruction in subjects ranging from web and app development to robotics and cybersecurity.
At Avi I.T. Inc., we believe in more than just teaching code; we utilize a social-emotional learning approach. You will be responsible for creating a supportive environment that encourages students to express themselves through their work, explore S.T.E.M. career paths, and engage in open discussions about the challenges they face in the digital age.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Engaging Curriculum: Facilitate courses across various age groups (5+) and experience levels (Beginner to Advanced).
- Create Inclusive Spaces: Foster an environment where students from all backgrounds feel empowered to pursue computer science.
- Facilitate Mentorship: Use open discussion to connect technical skills with real-world problem-solving and social-emotional growth.
- Logistics & Setup: Manage class materials (projectors, Wi-Fi, and specialized hardware like VR/AR equipment) to ensure a seamless learning experience.
Qualifications
- Strong background in education and/or computer science.
- Proven ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to our mission of diversity and accessibility in tech.
- Requirements: Must pass a comprehensive background check and criminal records report.
