Entry Level Detailer
We are seeking a full-time Entry Level Detailer to join our team in Johnston, Rhode Island. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in steel detailing, model-based design, and shop drawing creation. You’ll work closely with experienced detailers, project managers, and engineers, learning industry standards and contributing to real-world projects that shape our built environment.
What You’ll Learn & Do
Detailing Process:
- Read and interpret structural and engineering drawings
- Create detailed fabrication drawings used in shop and field operations
- Apply industry standards and codes (AISC, ASTM, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance
Model-Based Design:
- Use 3D modeling techniques to support project development
- Participate in clash detection and resolution to ensure constructability
- Generate fabrication shop drawings from 3D models
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate or a Current student finishing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in structural steel design/fabrication
- Familiarity with CAD or 3D modeling software is a plus (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD)
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
