Who We Are
Anderson's & Co. is a dynamic, growing environmental engineering firm specializing in compliance and engineering solutions across a diverse client base. We are building a high-performing, collaborative team — and we're passionate about developing the next generation of environmental engineers. This internship is a launchpad: you'll work side-by-side with experienced engineers on real client projects from your very first day.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated engineering student to join us as a Field Engineer Intern for the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 semester at our Buckhead, Atlanta, GA office. This is a genuine hands-on learning experience — you'll get out from behind a desk and into the field, building the technical skills, client-facing confidence, and regulatory know-how that will set you apart when you graduate. Roughly 25% of your time will be spent on-site at client facilities, giving you real exposure to the day-to-day work of an environmental engineer.
What You'll Learn & Do
- Get trained in and perform field work firsthand, including stormwater sampling, quarterly environmental site inspections, and annual comprehensive site inspections
- Work directly with clients — under mentorship — to help communicate technical guidance, project updates, and compliance recommendations
- Learn to write technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory agency correspondence that hold up to real-world scrutiny
- Build a working understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations by applying them on active projects
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and project managers, learning how a comprehensive environmental solution comes together from every angle
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
- Comfort with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites for fieldwork (up to 25%)
- Availability to work full-time, in person in Buckhead, Atlanta, GA during the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 semester
Bonus Points For
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software for site plans and technical illustrations
- Prior experience (even coursework or a previous internship) in environmental compliance, consulting, or a related field
- Strong people skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and confidently
- A curious, problem-solving mindset — comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Exposure to federal/state environmental regulations, especially NPDES permitting and stormwater management
- Any hands-on experience with environmental sampling or field data collection
