Job Description
Xiomara Interpreter Services LLC is seeking professional and dependable freelance interpreters to join our growing network of 1099 Independent Contractors. Assignments are offered based on client demand and interpreter availability throughout Nebraska, with opportunities for both in-person and remote services.
We are committed to delivering accurate, confidential, and culturally appropriate language services while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Assignments May Include
- Immigration interviews
- Medical appointments
- Legal consultations
- School meetings
- Business meetings
- Community interpreting
- Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
- Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI)
Languages Needed
We welcome interpreters of all languages, including but not limited to Spanish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, French, Swahili, Luganda, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, Burmese, Rohingya, Rakhine, Turkish, Farsi, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Somali, Karen, Nepali, Oromo, and Amharic.
Applicants speaking other languages are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and ethical conduct
- Commitment to confidentiality and impartiality
- Reliable transportation for in-person assignments
- Previous interpreting experience preferred
- Interpreter certification is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Authorization to work in the United States
