We are partnering with a leader in industrial manufacturing, specializing in engineered acoustic engine exhaust silencers, discharge plenums, exhaust piping systems, and custom metal fabrication. They serve engine OEMs, enclosure manufacturers, marine, power generation, and other industrial markets. Privately held and profitable, they have grown from 25 to 130 employees in three years and recently added a second facility.

They are seeking a Welder to support production growth through quality fabrication and dependable shop floor execution.

Role Overview

In this role, you will assemble and weld metal components to blueprint specifications using MIG welding processes. You will support production goals by delivering quality welds, maintaining safe work practices, and driving efficiency in fabrication. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, reliable, and able to interpret technical drawings while working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

Welding and fabrication

• Perform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless components according to work orders and blueprints.
• Set up welding machines based on job specifications and material type.
• Grind, cut, and clean welds as required to ensure quality and visual appearance.
• Inspect finished products for structural integrity and conformance to specifications.

Blueprint and specification interpretation

• Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and shop instructions.
• Follow standard operating procedures to meet quality and safety standards.

Safety and equipment maintenance

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all company safety policies.
• Inspect equipment before use and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Assist in daily maintenance of tools and welding equipment.

Team collaboration and productivity

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies or quality concerns.
• Cross train in other production areas as needed.

What you bring

Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Completion of a welding certificate or vocational training program is a plus.
• Familiarity with weld fixtures, jigs, and hand tools.
• Ability to pass a weld test administered by our client.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading and weld symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Work style

• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Work environment

Manufacturing and production floor. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Prolonged standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Exposure to shop conditions requiring PPE.
