Distance Learning Assistant – Work Study Eligible Only
The Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs is seeking dependable students to assist with distance learning classes on the UT Martin main campus. This is a straightforward classroom support position, and no advanced technology experience is required. Training will be provided.
Each student assistant will typically be assigned two to three classes to attend during the semester. The assistant will arrive before class, turn on and check the classroom equipment, help the instructor connect to the distance learning session, and remain in the classroom during class.
Most of the time, the assistant will simply sit in on the class and remain available in case help is needed. Assistants are not expected to troubleshoot major technical problems. If an issue occurs, their main responsibility will be to contact the appropriate technology support staff and help communicate the problem.
After class, the assistant will shut down the equipment and make sure the classroom is left ready for its next use.
The most important qualifications are dependability, punctuality, communication, and the ability to consistently attend assigned classes. Applicants should be comfortable using basic computers, following instructions, and working independently.
Applicants must have confirmed Federal Work-Study eligibility for Fall 2026. Students may work up to 10 hours per week, and the position pays $8.50 per hour.
