Sales Operations & Planning Specialist
FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:
Develops sales program materials to support field sales representatives to generate revenue including sales campaigns, training programs, tools and lead generation events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designs sales communication and training program materials to support field sales representatives in achieving revenue growth such as sales support materials, brochures, lead cards, customer "leave behinds" employee reference materials and product information training.
2. Implements sales program timelines and plans for the distribution of sales support materials as directed. Supports the allocation and sharing of resources and best practices.
3. Schedules trade shows, marketing events and corporate events; coordinates the logistics of participants, materials and costs.
4. Evaluates support materials and content for distribution to different tiers of sales representatives. Assists in the development of targeted programs to support each segment appropriately.
5. Supports the development of training events and programs. May facilitate webinars or telecoms.
6. Compiles and summarizes customer and competitor information, such as prices, quotes, and case studies, through internet searches and monitoring industry publications for use in developing sales support materials.
7. Supports the evaluation of programs by distributing surveys to collect feedback on content and usability. Reviews data and identifies areas for improvements.
8. Works with other functions in the development of sales programs to support sales strategies for new and existing products and services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Skill using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software to create documents, reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of market research practices and techniques sufficient to gather market information for use in identifying industry trends or impacts.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare and present information, data, proposals, recommendations, and briefings.
- Ability to develop support materials that target a predetermined audience to achieve a sales strategy.
- Ability to coordinate the activities of events including registration, travel, and scheduling participants.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with customers.
