Elementary Teacher

The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality, Christ-centered instruction that fosters the academic, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each student. The teacher integrates biblical truth throughout the curriculum, models Christian character, and partners with parents and school leadership to nurture students in their faith and educational development. The teacher is expected to support and uphold the school's mission, statement of faith, and biblical worldview in all aspects of teaching and professional conduct.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards.

Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into daily instruction and classroom activities.

Create a safe, nurturing, and respectful classroom environment that encourages academic excellence, spiritual growth, and Christ-like character.

Foster students' intellectual curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and love of learning.

Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students.

Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate academic records.

Communicate student progress regularly with parents and guardians through conferences, written reports, and other appropriate means.

Establish and maintain effective classroom management practices that reflect biblical principles of grace, accountability, and respect.

Pray with and for students and encourage their spiritual development through age-appropriate discipleship and biblical instruction.

Collaborate with fellow faculty members, administrators, and support staff to strengthen the school's educational and spiritual mission.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel services, school events, and other activities as assigned.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with school policies and ethical standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Principal.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.

Valid state teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification as required by the school.

A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Agreement with and willingness to uphold the school's Statement of Faith, mission, and philosophy of Christian education.

Active involvement in a Bible-believing Christian church.

Demonstrated ability to effectively teach elementary-age students.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Previous teaching experience in a Christian or private school.

Master's degree in Education or a related field.

Experience integrating faith and learning across academic subjects.

Experience using instructional technology to enhance student learning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and child development.

Ability to integrate biblical truth naturally and meaningfully into all subject areas.

Strong classroom management skills rooted in biblical principles and restorative practices.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods.

Ability to supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, field trips, and other school functions.

Ability to lift and carry instructional materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
