At Sustainable Comfort, Inc. (SCI), we’re passionate about creating healthier, more energy-efficient multifamily buildings. Our team works alongside developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to improve building performance, reduce energy consumption, and support high-quality construction across the Northeast.
We’re looking for motivated individuals to join our growing team of Multifamily Energy Raters. Whether you enjoy being out in the field visiting construction sites or prefer office-based design reviews and energy modeling, we have opportunities that may be a great fit.
This posting represents multiple current and upcoming Energy Rater opportunities across our offices in Worcester, MA, Syracuse, NY, Rochester, NY, and Albany, NY.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your interests, experience, and the needs of our team, your responsibilities may include:
Field-Based Opportunities
- Visit multifamily construction sites throughout the region
- Perform inspections and verify construction meets program requirements
- Conduct blower door, duct leakage, and other building performance testing
- Work directly with builders, contractors, and project teams
- Document findings and prepare project reports
Office-Based Opportunities
- Review construction drawings and specifications
- Perform HERS modeling and building energy analysis
- Support ENERGY STAR®, LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, Phius, and other green building certification programs
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal technical teams
- Assist clients in achieving energy efficiency and sustainability goals
We’re Looking For
We’re interested in candidates with backgrounds in areas such as:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Architectural Engineering
- Architecture
- Construction Management
- Building Science
- Environmental Engineering
- Sustainability
- Energy Systems
- Facilities Management
- Related technical disciplines
Experience with energy modeling, construction, HVAC systems, building science, or green building programs is a plus, but not required for all opportunities.
