Commission Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commission Analyst to join our team at Apollo Insurance Group, a leading health insurance brokerage. The Commission Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing commission payments, reconciling carrier statements, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting commission-related inquiries. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting broker compensation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
● Reconcile incoming commission statements from health insurance carriers with internal records.
● Process and track commission payments and overrides to brokers and internal sales agents.
● Maintain commission databases and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
● Identify and resolve discrepancies in commission payments and escalate issues as needed.
● Generate regular and ad hoc commission reports for management and sales teams.
● Collaborate with carrier representatives to ensure timely and accurate commission payments.
● Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls related to commission processing.
● Assist in the implementation and improvement of commission tracking tools and workflows.
● Provide support to brokers and internal stakeholders regarding commission questions and disputes.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
● 2+ years of experience in a commission analyst, accounting, or finance role; experience in the insurance or brokerage industry is a plus.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with commission management systems or CRM tools.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Knowledge of health insurance products and commission structures is a strong advantage.
Preferred Skills:
● Experience working with insurance carriers or third-party administrators (TPAs).
● Familiarity with Hubspot, Salesforce, AgencyBloc, or other brokerage management platforms.
● Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the health insurance industry.
