Industrial Designer – Automotive OEM Accessories
Role Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented entry-level Industrial Designer to join our product development team. In this role, you will help design and develop high-quality OEM accessories for the automotive industry. You will support the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept generation and market research to prototyping, specification verification, and packaging design. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to build a foundational career in automotive accessory design, working both independently and collaboratively across multiple departments to bring innovative products to market.

Key Responsibilities
Concept, Product & Packaging Development (Primary Focus)
- Generate innovative concepts and lead new product development initiatives for automotive OEM accessories.

Conduct market, user, and trend research to inform design decisions.
Create graphic layouts, line art, and imprint artwork for products. - Develop and maintain packaging specifications, including carton and pallet layouts, along with all associated documentation.
- Create comprehensive installation instructions and detailed line art for automotive accessory placement.
- Prepare professional presentations and handouts for meetings.
Technical Specifications & Process Control
- Author sample requests, build prototypes, and manage physical sample workflows.
- Review and verify dimensions and specifications for both samples and production parts.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Specification Deviation changes.
- Develop precise product drawings using AutoCAD LT for customer and internal (RMS) use.
- Manage professional internal and external communications, and review customer websites or portals as needed.
- Review and reset design transfer samples for production and design teams.
- Support general team needs, including cross-functional design reviews, sample record maintenance, and administrative tasks.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Degree field must be in Industrial Design or a closely related field.
- Professional experience or project history with cut-and-sew soft good design and manufacturing is a major plus.
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
- Graphic & CAD Software: Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and assorted
- CAD/graphic design software and file formats. Experience with AutoCAD LT is a plus.
- Microsoft Office: General office proficiency, including functional familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Quality Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is an asset.

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit at a design workstation for up to 8 hours on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 30 pounds on rare occasions.
