Director of Youth and College Ministries
Candidates for this position are experienced ministry leaders who are passionate about Christ and excited to disciple and lead ministry to younger generations.
Other qualifications include the following:
- A heart for ministering to youth, college-aged students, and their families
- A growing and deepening faith in Jesus Christ
- Experience coming alongside those who are spiritually seeking
- Biblical teaching experience
- A commitment to team ministry
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- A self-starter who welcomes a challenge
- Experience planning events and activities
- Experience recruiting and equipping ministry team volunteers
- A college graduate preferably with education and training in biblical studies

Our Director of Youth and College Ministries Will:
- Lead our middle school, high school and college students towards a closerwalk with God, supporting their journey from participation to discipleship.
- Demonstrate a personal, growing relationship with Christ and the ability to articulate that faith to others.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a single vision for the youth and college ministries. Unite into one seamless progression of faith
- development, with benchmarks along with way.
- Nurture, counsel, teach, disciple our 6-12th graders and college students and foster a mission mindset.
- Develop relationships with our students and their families. Go to their extra-curricular activities and support school-based programs like FCA. Be a regular presence in their lives as a mentor and spiritual advisor.
- Recruit, disciple and help train both adults and young people to be equipped for leadership responsibilities in the church’s student ministry.
- Lead, or ensure leadership is provided for, Sunday School, Confirmation, Sunday evening youth gatherings and Wednesday Night Bible Studies.
- Train youth for participation in worship, including our annual Youth Sunday service.
- Coordinate youth engagement in special events such as churchwide BBQ or sporting events.
- Plan and lead summer and holiday-season gatherings for youth and college students.
- Plan and lead annual summer trips for high school and middle school students, such as Fun in the Son, Great Escape Conferences and periodic Youth Mission Trips.
- Demonstrate self-direction, initiative, and exemplary moral character.
- Pray for the youth in our church and the surrounding community that they may come to know Jesus Christ and mature into a fullness of faith.
- Provide guidance for annual youth ministry budgeting.
- Coordinate regular, year-round communication with college students with the goal of supporting and nurturing their faith, whether on-site or at school.
- Participate in staff, Christian Education Team, and Youth Ministry Team meetings.
- Consistently draw on an extensive study of Scripture and help youth learn how to apply God’s Word in their daily lives.
- Affirm the Essential Tenets of our denomination, ECO.
