Civil Field Engineer

Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) is Korea’s premier global construction leader with a 78-year legacy.

Currently, we are spearheading a historic $5.8 billion integrated steel mill project in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. As the primary force behind this landmark development, we are building the first integrated electric arc furnace (EAF) facility in the U.S., delivering world-class industrial infrastructure on a global scale.

To drive this monumental vision forward, we are seeking a highly skilled Civil Field Engineer to join our team and contribute to the technical excellence of this landmark facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil construction works (e.g., excavation, piling, concrete pouring, structural steel installation) to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against the master schedule
• Coordinate daily tasks with subcontractors, monitor their performance, and verify progress payments (milestones).
• Review shop drawings, blueprints, and method statements to identify and resolve design discrepancies or site interferences beforehand.
• Participate in technical and progress meetings.
• Maintain accurate site diaries, progress photos, and inspection records.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and final handover documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in civil field engineering, construction site supervision, or related roles.
• Relevant civil engineering certifications are highly preferred.
• Understanding of subcontractor coordination, procurement processes, and basic contract administration.
• Proficiency with civil engineering and construction software used for field operations and documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with filed teams and subcontractors.
