Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction in physical sciences, including physics, chemistry, biology, and related mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, and discrete math
- Integrate educational technology tools and IT-embedded lessons to enhance student understanding and engagement
- Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research activities to provide hands-on learning experiences in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, organic chemistry, and microbiology
- Assess student progress through standardized tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation; provide constructive feedback and tutoring as needed
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment that respects diverse cultural backgrounds
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and implementation of educational standards; participate in teacher meetings and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field; higher education teaching experience preferred
- Proven classroom management skills with experience teaching teenagers at middle or high school levels
- Strong knowledge of scientific research methods and laboratory safety protocols
- Familiarity with curriculum development tools and educational technology integration
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; adaptability to different learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and collaboration with colleagues and parents
- Ability to implement IT-integrated lessons seamlessly into classroom activities
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and educational compliance regulations
- Previous private school or Montessori teaching experience is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth through research, instructional design, mentoring or library services involvement
