Pay Rate:  $39.70/hr.

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Business Analyst to join an active, fast-paced development team. In this role, you will act as the vital bridge between business stakeholders and our technical team. Working under the guidance of a Team Lead, you will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable technical requirements, ensuring the final system functions flawlessly, and supporting our end-users.

 

This is a full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week). While the role is remote, candidates must currently reside within a 2-hour radius of the Harrisburg, PA region for occasional collaboration needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business, functional, user (stakeholder), and quality-of-service (non-functional) requirements.
  • Agile Collaboration: Serve as an active member of a Scrum team, converting requirements into clear user stories, tasks, and bug tracking.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Participate in testing activities to validate that development aligns with requirements, including familiarity with automated testing practices.
  • Accessibility & Standards: Ensure applications meet critical usability and digital accessibility standards.
  • Documentation & Training: Author clear user guides, training materials, and project initiation documentation to support smooth system adoption.

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Agile/Scrum Expertise: Proven experience working within a Scrum or similar Agile development environment.
  • Requirement Documentation: Strong background in formal requirements-gathering methodologies. Skilled in writing clear Project Initiation Documents, functional specifications, and non-functional requirements (security, scalability, performance).
  • Tools: Experience utilizing Azure DevOps Studio (or similar Agile management software) to manage backlogs, user stories, and defect tracking.
  • Testing Aptitude: Experience with automated testing practices/software (such as Selenium) and a strong eye for quality assurance.
  • Communication & Workshop Facilitation: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of successful driving requirements workshops with diverse stakeholder groups.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with digital accessibility standards, specifically WCAG 2.1 testing and compliance.

 

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday (37.5-hour work week).
  • Location: Remote (Candidate must live within 2 hours of Harrisburg, PA).

 

Required / Desired Skills

  • Experience with requirements gathering (Required 2 Years)
  • Experience in working on a Scrum Team or Agile environment (Highly Desired 1 Years)
  • Experience supporting software in a Production Environment and handling customer reported issues (Required 2 Years)
  • Experience developing Business Requirements documentation (Required 2 Years)
  • Experience conducting full system testing with overall functionality (Required 2 Years)
  • Prior Commonwealth experience (Highly Desired 1 Years)
