Part-Time Estate Cleanout Sorter / Donation & Resale Assistant

D’Beetle is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented team member to help with estate cleanouts, donation sorting, and resale set-asides. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, physically capable, and comfortable working in homes where professionalism, care, and discretion matter.

Many of our clients are navigating stressful life transitions, so we are looking for someone who can work efficiently while treating people and their belongings with respect. The right person is practical, hardworking, observant, and able to make thoughtful decisions about what should be donated, what may have resale value, and what needs to be removed.

About D’Beetle

D’Beetle helps families, estates, and property transitions through cleanouts, furniture removal, donation routing, and resale recovery. Our model is built around reducing landfill waste, recovering value where appropriate, and delivering a more thoughtful client experience than standard junk removal.

This role supports that mission directly by helping us sort items accurately, preserve value, and keep cleanout jobs organized and moving.

Essential duties

  • Sort household contents during estate cleanouts into donation, resale, recycling, and disposal categories.
  • Box, label, and organize donation items for transport, drop-off, or pickup.
  • Identify furniture, décor, housewares, and other items that may be appropriate for resale.
  • Help stage, group, and organize items so the cleanout team can work efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with the crew about items that need review, special handling, or client confirmation.
  • Assist with loading, moving, and general on-site cleanout support as needed.
  • Help maintain a respectful, efficient, and professional work environment on every job.

Required skills

  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and follow-through.
  • Good organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well on a team and take direction.
  • Comfort making practical judgments about condition, usefulness, and resale potential.
  • Clear communication and respect for clients, homes, and belongings.
  • Ability to stay focused and productive in a fast-moving, physically active environment.
  • Experience in moving, hauling, cleanouts, warehouse work, donation sorting, retail backroom work, or other hands-on operational roles is preferred but not required.

Physical demands

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes, bags, and household items safely.
  • Ability to move small furniture pieces independently and assist with medium to large furniture pieces as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in homes, apartments, basements, attics, and other real-world cleanout environments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks while staying organized, careful, and professional.

Who this role fits

This role is a strong fit for someone who likes active work, notices details, and takes pride in being useful. It is especially well suited to people with experience in moving, resale, donation operations, junk removal, estate services, or hands-on support work.

It may also fit someone who has a good eye for furniture and household goods and likes the idea of helping valuable items get reused instead of wasted.
