Job Overview
The Donor Engagement Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in fundraising and donor management as part of a larger team by supporting donor relations, stewardship, audience segmentation, database hygiene, and other duties as needed. This internship position is unpaid, but interns will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to the internship (food, housing, transportation), and college credit can be earned.
This in-person internship will run from August 31st, 2026, through December 18th, 2026, and will have a mandatory orientation on Thursday, August 27th, from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Family Futures’ office. This internship can also be extended into the next internship period for a second semester. If interested in a longer internship period, please reach out to the hiring manager.
Family Futures employees, volunteers, and interns serve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve. A position at Family Futures may entail the following: the use of a personal vehicle, lifting of boxes (roughly 25 lbs.), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduled hours. Roles and Responsibilities
Support the Fund Development Team with various projects and in day-to-day operations
Assist with planning and coordinating upcoming events including our Trunk-or-Treat and Spring Luncheon fundraiser
Assist with appeal development and management
Research and obtain raffle items
Support targeted outreach campaigns and community events
Run analytics and reporting in donor database (Network For Good) and other donor relations software
Perform research on potential funding streams for Family Futures
Create and collaborate on donor communications and promotional materials
Other duties as assigned, falling within the scope of Fund Development
Required Qualifications
Current college student or recent graduate
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Microsoft Office skills
Detail oriented
Effective time management and organization skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to work at least 15 hours per week, on-site
