Language Tutors - Spanish or French
Title: Language Tutors of Spanish or French for the 2026-27 school year.
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the Language Tutors is to work one-on-one with beginning and intermediate language students to help improve grammar, speaking, writing, listening, reading, and signing abilities.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain up to eight (8) hours per week, either in-person or online tutoring.
2. Work with beginning and intermediate language students to help improve language skills including, but not limited to, the following activities:
- assistance with homework
- practice conversation practice
- assistance with writing
- practice with signing
3. Clean work area upon completion of work shift.
4. Ensure all student visits to the Language Resource Center are recorded in the attendance sheet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
2. Advanced language skills
3. Completed one language course at the 300-level or higher and earned at least a “B” OR be a native/heritage speaker
4. Be enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate credits per semester
5. Maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester
6. Be free from any type of academic or social probation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Be of Sophomore standing or higher
SALARY: $13.73/hr (work study preferred)
