Part-Time American Sign Language Instructor

Pay: $5,000.00 - $10,000.00 per year

Part-Time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor
St. Peter's School | Mansfield, Ohio

St. Peter's School, a PreK–12 Catholic school in Mansfield, Ohio, is seeking a passionate and engaging part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are looking for an educator who can inspire students through language and culture while creating an engaging, student-centered classroom. This position offers flexibility and is ideal for an experienced ASL educator, interpreter, adjunct instructor, or professional with a strong background in American Sign Language and Deaf culture.

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory and intermediate ASL courses to middle and/or high school students.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that build communication skills and cultural awareness.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and school staff.
  • Support the mission and values of St. Peter's School.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in American Sign Language.
  • Experience teaching or working with children, adolescents, or adult learners preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Teaching license preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and Diocese of Toledo Safe Environment requirements.

Schedule
