Part-Time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor
St. Peter's School | Mansfield, Ohio
St. Peter's School, a PreK–12 Catholic school in Mansfield, Ohio, is seeking a passionate and engaging part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are looking for an educator who can inspire students through language and culture while creating an engaging, student-centered classroom. This position offers flexibility and is ideal for an experienced ASL educator, interpreter, adjunct instructor, or professional with a strong background in American Sign Language and Deaf culture.
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory and intermediate ASL courses to middle and/or high school students.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that build communication skills and cultural awareness.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and school staff.
- Support the mission and values of St. Peter's School.
Qualifications
- Fluency in American Sign Language.
- Experience teaching or working with children, adolescents, or adult learners preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Teaching license preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and Diocese of Toledo Safe Environment requirements.
