After-School Facilitator

Location: Camden County, NJ (School-Based Programs)

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)

About Queens Empowerment Academy

Queens Empowerment Academy (QEA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls in grades K–12 through leadership development, social-emotional learning, mentorship, and culturally responsive programming. Position Overview

Queens Empowerment Academy is seeking passionate, energetic, and dependable Facilitators to lead engaging after-school empowerment groups for girls during the 2026–2027 school year.

Facilitators will implement lesson plans focused on leadership, social-emotional learning, self-esteem, college and career readiness, financial literacy, healthy relationships, and life skills while creating a supportive environment where every girl feels valued and encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students, education majors, social work students, counseling students, psychology majors, youth development professionals, and aspiring educators.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly after-school sessions for girls in grades K–12
  • Create a welcoming, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Deliver prepared curriculum while encouraging discussion and participation
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Promote leadership, teamwork, and confidence among participants
  • Maintain attendance and complete brief program documentation
  • Participate in facilitator trainings and team meetings
  • Assist with special events and community programs throughout the school year

Qualifications

Preferred candidates have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Education
  • Social Work
  • Counseling
  • Psychology
  • Youth Development
  • Child Development
  • Human Services

Candidates should also demonstrate:

  • Passion for empowering girls
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience working with children or adolescents preferred

Schedule

  • Approximately 2 hours per week per assigned school
  • After-school hours (Monday–Thursday depending on school assignment)
  • September 2026 through June 2027
  • Additional opportunities available for Saturday Academy events and special programming

Compensation

Compensation: This is a stipend-based position. Facilitators receive a stipend for leading weekly after-school sessions, participating in required trainings, and fulfilling program responsibilities throughout the 2026–2027 school year. Stipend amounts will be discussed during the interview process.
