Social Media Manager
About Us
Mindful Works is a Boulder-based nonprofit social enterprise on a mission to create meaningful employment and job training for adults facing barriers to work. Our team handcrafts artisan-baked goods, small-batch spice rubs, meditation pillows, bags, and furniture in our bakery and sewing studio—and every product sold supports the people who make them. You'll find us at farmers markets, festivals, and local cafes all over the Front Range.
We're looking for a creative, self-directed social media manager to help tell our story. This is a part-time role (about 10 hours per week) with flexibility to work mostly on your own schedule—plus one day a week at our shop, where the good stuff happens. You'll get to capture fresh scones coming out of the oven, works in progress in the sewing studio, and the people at the heart of it all.
What You'll Do
- Own our social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, and beyond)—planning, creating, and posting content that feels genuine and human
- Spend one day a week at our Boulder shop capturing photos, video, and stories from the bakery, sewing studio, and team
- Promote our farmers market appearances, festival booths, product launches, and community events
- Engage with our community—responding to comments and messages, and building relationships with local partners, cafes, and fellow makers
- Track what's working and share simple insights to help us grow our reach
- Collaborate with our outreach team on campaigns, fundraisers, and seasonal pushes
Who You Are
- A natural storyteller with an eye for warm, authentic content (bonus if you love food photography)
- Experienced with Instagram and Facebook for a brand, business, or organization — you know your Reels from your Stories
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own content calendar
- Genuinely excited about our mission—you want your work to mean something
- Kind, curious, and comfortable interacting with a diverse team
Nice to Have
- Basic photo/video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, or similar)
- Experience with nonprofits, social enterprises, or local food/maker brands
- Familiarity with the Boulder community
