Upper Room Solutions, LLC is seeking motivated students and emerging professionals for our Fall 2026 Benefits Counselor Apprenticeship.
This is a sales-focused employee benefits role. Benefits Counselors meet with employees from existing client groups, explain available benefit options, identify coverage needs, and complete benefit enrollments.
This position focuses on enrolling employees in benefits. It does not require employer prospecting or cold calling for new clients.
The program begins in Fall 2026 but is not limited to one semester. Successful apprentices may continue with Upper Room Solutions beyond the fall as they develop their knowledge, confidence, and client-service skills.
Responsibilities
Conduct scheduled virtual or in-person employee enrollment meetings
Explain benefit options in clear, easy-to-understand language
Ask questions to identify employee and family coverage needs
Help employees select appropriate benefit options
Complete benefit elections accurately
Review employee information and enrollment details
Answer general questions about coverage, costs, and enrollment
Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information
Follow enrollment, compliance, and documentation procedures
Participate in training, coaching, and team meetings

Professional Licensing
Selected apprentices will be required to obtain an Accident, Health, and Life Insurance License before conducting licensed enrollment activities.
Upper Room Solutions provides study materials and exam-preparation resources at no cost. Apprentices are responsible for the cost of the licensing exam and required background check.
The license belongs to the apprentice and may remain with them after leaving Upper Room Solutions, provided state renewal and continuing-education requirements are maintained.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, coachable, comfortable speaking one-on-one with employees, able to explain information clearly, organized, detail-oriented, and interested in employee benefits, insurance, sales, human resources, healthcare administration, or client service.
