Purpose:  
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Warehouse Assistant to support daily warehouse operations, including picking, packing, receiving, and shipping. 

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to learn how a growing distribution business operates. This intern will lead a project focused on improving the organization of our packaging area and strengthening internal packaging inventory management processes.   While this role is primarily warehouse-based, the ideal candidate is also be computer-savvy and able to step in to assist with shipping coordination and administrative tasks when needed.  

This internship position will be supporting our current full-time Shipping team, and is designed for someone who enjoys both physical work and process improvement. We are looking for a person who takes pride in doing things accurately, stays organized, and is willing to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities. This role will be in-person at the CEC warehouse, working 40 hours per week for the length of the internship, with the opportunity for a full-time direct hire.

Key Responsibilities  

Warehouse & Shipping Operations (Primary Focus) 

Packaging Inventory Cleanup and Organization (Project) 

Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for shipment  

Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and condition  

Label, organize, and store inventory properly  

Assist with loading/unloading shipments  

Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment 

Shipping Coordination (Secondary/Backup Role) 

Assist in scheduling shipments with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, freight)  

Help generate packaging labels, shipping labels and documentation  

Follow customer-specific routing and shipping requirements  

Support tracking shipments and resolving delivery issues when needed 

Process Compliance 

Follow customer-specific shipping guides and routing instructions  

Ensure compliance with company procedures and shipping standards  

Identify and suggest improvements to shipping workflows 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

Comfortable with physical warehouse work (standing, lifting, moving packages)  

Basic computer skills and ability to learn systems quickly  

Clear English communication (written and verbal)  

Strong attention to detail and reliability  

Good organizational and time management skills 

Bilingual language fluency: English and Spanish 

Preferred: 

Experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics roles  

Familiarity with shipping platforms (UPS/FedEx) or ERP systems  

Experience working in a fast-paced operations environment
