Community Outreach & Development Assistant (Part-Time)
Organization: United Against Poverty – 100 Families Initiative
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)
Hours: 10–20 hours per week (Flexible)
Compensation: $18–$22 per hour, based on experience
About Us
United Against Poverty leads the 100 Families Initiative in Ingham County, bringing together nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and faith-based organizations to help families move from crisis to stability through coordinated care.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated college student or recent graduate who is passionate about community impact. This position supports outreach, fundraising, donor development, research, and community engagement while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit leadership.
Responsibilities
Research local businesses, foundations, churches, and community organizations.
Identify and update contact information for potential partners and donors.
Assist with donor outreach and sponsorship opportunities.
Help coordinate community events and volunteer activities.
Maintain accurate records using spreadsheets and CRM systems.
Assist with social media, newsletters, and communications.
Support grant research and development projects.
Perform other administrative and outreach duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current college student or recent graduate.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Comfortable conducting online research.
Passion for serving the community and helping families.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with nonprofits, fundraising, marketing, communications, or public health.
Familiarity with Excel, Canva, or social media platforms.
