Distribution Center Leadership Intern

Sr Director of Distribution Center

Timeframe:

August 2026 – December 2026

Pay:

$16 per hour

Hours:

16 – 20 hours per week *will work around class schedule

 

Description:

We are seeking a curious, self-starting, and eager-to-learn Distribution Center Leadership Intern to support our growing operations team. In this role, you will assist with DC floor walks with leadership, process improvement, and foundational Distribution Center-related tasks that help drive day-to-day operations across our warehouse network. You will gain hands-on experience working with Supply Chain & Logistics professionals to learn the tools, processes, and methodologies that support operations in the furniture retail industry.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Help track and report key performance metrics (e.g., throughput, accuracy, productivity) to support daily operations and leadership decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control) to support execution of DC priorities and projects
  • Participate in root cause analysis to help resolve operational challenges and improve workflow efficiency
  • Observe and learn workforce planning, labor management, and scheduling practices within a DC environment
  • Support inventory accuracy efforts, cycle counts, and basic warehouse audits as needed
  • Complete ad hoc projects and administrative tasks to support the Distribution Center leadership team
  • Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to contribute to our continuous improvement culture by bringing forward ideas, insights, and feedback

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
