CPA/Tax Accountant
Michael A Galer CPA, PC is a full service public accounting firm that provides taxation, accounting, auditing and financial planning services to our individual and corporate clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our small firm outside of Boston, MA full time and permanently. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently licensed CPA or CPA candidate who enjoys the variety of public accounting and is looking to grow with our firm on a long term basis. This position is in-office, with some flexibility for remote work for the right candidate after an introductory period. Salary is based on experience.
Please note that at least 2 tax seasons of experience is required for this position. Some training will be provided but the candidate must already have a solid knowledge of tax return preparation including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual and corporate income tax returns including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065, 1041, and 990 along with supporting forms and schedules
- Assist in preparing financial statement engagements (compilations, reviews and audits) in various industries
- Work directly with clients; maintain and build strong relationships
- Various other tax and office duties
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE 2+ years of tax preparation experience specifically in public accounting
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
- CPA license or candidate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and tax preparation software
- Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
- Strong time management skills
- Must be comfortable with contacting clients for information
- Works well in a fast-paced, changing environment with multiple engagements under tight deadlines
