Vice President (VP)

The Asia Group, LLC is now accepting applications for a Vice President (VP) to join the India and South Asia practice at our Washington, DC office.

The Vice President will be an integral member of TAG’s India & South Asia practice and the broader TAG team to support the firm’s client servicing. The role will primarily involve servicing clients in India and the U.S. across multiple sectors including energy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, technology, agriculture, logistics, and biotechnology. 

A strong candidate will have a deep understanding of India’s political and commercial dynamics, technology ecosystem, and India’s regional relationships in West Asia and broader Asia-Pacific. Candidates are expected to possess skills to engage clients with poise and clarity, have strong experience with business writing, showcase ability to perform effectively under pressure, and possess a strong teamwork ethos. Leadership skills are valued and the position will call for occasional business development support. Candidates will require reference checks with an eye toward confirming collegiality and team working skills.

Job Requirements

  • BA or equivalent academic/professional experience related to India/Asia-Pacific economic, political, and policy issues.
  • 6-7 years of prior work experience, preferably including in a client-servicing industry.
  • Superb oral briefing skills.
  • Outstanding research, analytical and writing skills.
  • Analytical economic and political expertise related to India.
  • Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to excel under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and experience with PowerPoint Co-Pilot, etc.
  • Team player with can-do attitude and eagerness for professional development.


Desired Qualifications

  • MA or equivalent academic/practice experience related to Asia-Pacific economic and policy issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise related to South Asia, with up to eight years of relevant work experience.
  • On-the-ground experience in South Asia, including ability to leverage a network of pertinent relationships.
  • Strong professional network with corporations operating in South Asia.
  • Prior experience at TAG valued


We value professionals who are proactive in exploring new ways to work smarter. Ideal candidates will be comfortable using artificial intelligence tools — or excited to learn how — to increase efficiency, enhance analysis or deliverables, and generate innovative solutions. Familiarity with generative AI platforms or a growth mindset toward emerging technologies is a plus. 

Candidates must be eligible to work in United States and are expected to work in-person at the TAG Washington, DC office five days per week. 

Job Responsibilities
 

  • Serve as lead conduit for client engagement and taskings.
  • Conduct thorough industry and political research, geo-political risk and analysis, and business due diligence.
  • Draft executive memos, reports, briefing materials and other written products for external (client) and internal (TAG) consumers related to geopolitical, energy, critical minerals, trade, commercial, and technology trends across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with TAG New Delhi and Mumbai offices on client taskings.
  • Track market and industry developments impacting client equities;
  • Support business development pitches when called upon;
  • Provide direct support to client regional teams and traveling executives, including for meetings with relevant counterparts.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and foster strong teamwork ethos.
  • Ability to staff principals and partners as needed.

TAG provides competitive benefits with regular training opportunities available to its employees. For this role, TAG offers a salary of $120,000-$140,000 with eligibility for a discretionary end-of-year bonus.
