Overview:

Boothette 2.0 is seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns to help design and build a new generation of smart focus booths for cafés, restaurants, libraries, and other public spaces. These private workspaces will integrate physical hardware with software, allowing users to reserve and unlock booths through a mobile application.

Please note: This is an in-person position based at our headquarters in Central New Jersey, near Princeton.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside startup leadership to prototype, improve, and test the physical structure of our focus booths. This is a unique opportunity to help invent and develop a real hardware product from the ground up while gaining hands-on product development experience.

 

Responsibilities:

-Assist in designing and improving the physical structure of Boothette 2.0 focus booths.

-Help prototype, assemble, and test booth components and mechanical systems.

-Evaluate materials, durability, ergonomics, and manufacturability.

-Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to integrate hardware components.

-Research innovative materials and mechanical solutions for future product improvements.

-Support product testing, quality assurance, and design validation.

-Assist with technical documentation and prototype iteration.

 

Qualifications:

-Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

-Interest in product design, prototyping, manufacturing, and startup innovation.

-Experience with CAD software, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar tools is a plus.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Ability to work collaboratively in a startup environment.
