Independent Board Director

Our client, Read and Board, is looking for four (4) Independent Board Directors that will provide strategic guidance, governance oversight, and objective advice to support their growth and long-term sustainability.

Read and Board Corporation is a Georgia nonprofit homeschool curriculum co-operative, dedicated to making enriching, supplementary education more accessible for families with school-age children. Through a shared book-based curriculum program, community events, and hands-on experiential travel, their mission is to help children build a lifelong love of learning while creating meaningful connections with other families.

Across the country, educators and families are working to address declining literacy rates and help children rediscover the joy of reading. Read and Board was founded to contribute to that effort.

We’re especially seeking individuals with experience in:
• Nonprofit finance or accounting
• Education, literacy, or homeschool leadership
• Law or nonprofit governance
• Fundraising and development

Board members support Read and Board’s mission by providing strategic oversight, strengthening governance, helping position the organization for long-term sustainability, and expanding access to meaningful literary experiences for families and children.

Commitment
• Quarterly board meetings
• Committee participation
• Commitment and passion for literacy, education, and community impact

To preserve board independence, directors may not have financial or immediate family ties to Read and Board’s founders or affiliated organizations.

We anticipate filling these seats by December 2026.
