Operations Associate

We're looking for someone who is able to start immediately and continue with us through the fall semester.

This is an unpaid internship.

If you have questions you can email us at jd@mylawly.com.

Lawly is building the go-to marketplace connecting law school applicants with admissions consultants. We're looking for someone to work directly with the founder on the mix of practical, behind-the-scenes work that keeps a startup moving — the kind of role where no two weeks look the same.

If you're the type of person who's curious about startups but doesn't want to be boxed into one narrow lane: someone who wants to try on different hats and see what actually clicks for you - this is built for that. It's less "here's your one job" and more "here's a front-row seat to how a company gets built, and a chance to touch a bunch of different parts of it."

A flavor of what you might work on:

  • Helping prep and polish pages, content, and materials before they go live
  • Digging into how our marketing and business tools should connect and work together, and helping get them properly set up
  • Light research on business/legal basics (think: brand protection, contracts, compliance questions) to help the founder make informed decisions
  • Supporting internal processes: organizing information, tracking action items, making sure things don't fall through the cracks
  • Jumping into whatever else comes up as we grow: new tools, new problems, new questions worth answering

You'll be handed context, a goal, and the trust to figure out a good chunk of it yourself, with the founder available to guide you, answer questions, and give real feedback along the way.

What you'll get:

  • Direct, regular access to the founder — no layers of management between you and real decisions
  • A genuine, unfiltered experience of what building a startup actually looks like day to day
  • The chance to wear different hats and figure out what kind of work you actually enjoy, product, marketing, ops, legal/business basics, tooling, and more
  • Real ownership over tasks, not busywork with no context
  • Broad exposure most internships don't offer, you'll leave understanding how the pieces of a startup fit together, not just one narrow slice
  • A resume line that reflects genuine range, not one repetitive task all summer

What we're looking for:

  • Resourceful: comfortable researching, troubleshooting, and figuring things out rather than needing every step spelled out
  • Strong attention to detail and real follow-through
  • Comfortable switching between different types of tasks without losing momentum
  • Genuinely curious about startups and how they actually work, not just looking to pad a resume
  • Available for regular, part-time hours (unpaid internship, flexible around your schedule)

If you like variety, learn fast, and want to actually experience startup life instead of just reading about it, we'd love to hear from you.
