One World Quest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities through STEM, technology, and career development programs. We partner with local schools to provide engaging after-school coding clubs that inspire the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and technology leaders.
Position Summary:
One World Quest is seeking enthusiastic Computer Science Coding Instructors to lead after-school coding clubs for middle school students throughout Colorado Springs. This is an excellent opportunity for high school students, and Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Game Design, and related STEM majors who enjoy mentoring youth while gaining valuable leadership and teaching experience while giving back to the community.
No prior teaching experience is required—we provide curriculum resources and ongoing support.
Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly after-school coding club sessions for middle school students.
- Teach foundational programming concepts through engaging, hands-on activities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Help students solve coding challenges and build confidence in problem-solving.
- Prepare basic lesson materials using provided curriculum.
- Communicate attendance and program updates to the Program Coordinator.
- Represent One World Quest professionally while working with partner schools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school junior or senior, college student, recent graduate, or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of one or more programming languages (Scratch, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong communication skills.
- Dependable and professional.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some teaching experience, but not required.
- Experience working with children, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching.
- Leadership experience through student organizations or volunteer work.
