Weather Anchor/Reporter

CBS19 is looking for our next Weather Anchor/Reporter. Are you interested in covering all four seasons in one of the most favorable places to live in the country?

The ideal candidate will be creative, positive, and open-minded to learning every aspect of weather forecasting, storytelling and broadcast news production. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Responsible for the content and presentation of weather information both on-air and on digital
  • Responsible for the creation of visually engaging weather graphics and maps to help our viewers completely understand weather conditions and forecasts
  • Keep abreast of new information and technology that would enhance the presentation of weather information, graphics and animation
  • Must be proficient in social media and digital communications
  • Ability to work any shift is required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Broadcast experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with weather computers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record compliant with our Vehicle Driving Safety Policy

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Good eyesight and hearing, ability to walk up stairs and sometimes long distances, ability to lift weights up to 10 pounds, ability to sit for a long period of time, ability to handle often stressful situations under deadline, ability to adapt to shift changes as needed by management, good manual and overall physical dexterity.

Salary/Wage: $16/hour to $17/hour
