Reports to: Director of Extended-Care
Job Summary
TKA is a Christ-centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for an Extended-Care Staff who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise students and provide an engaging extended-care program.
Essential Job Functions
Regular Activities
- Maintain a safe and fun environment on the playground and inside the classroom
- Ensure a healthy environment by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring proper cleaning of classrooms, toys, games and sports equipment
- Refer difficult behavior matters to the Extended Care Director
- Maintain professional, respectful, and open communication with parents and families of extended care students
- Always know the whereabouts of each child in your care
- Implement expectations/boundaries and follow discipline procedures set by TKA
- Plan and implement organized age appropriate games, and crafts
- Assist students with homework study
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years experience working with children in a school, church, ministry, summer, or after school program
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interact effectively with a team, a group of students, and outside vendors
- Excellent communication skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to learn new computer software systems
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Required to periodically use the computer
- Work will be performed from the campus
- May occasionally have to lift up to 40 pounds
- Work is generally performed throughout the year with hours typically 2:30 pm-5:30 pm
- This position will occasionally require you to work nights, weekends, and overnights (for trips/events). As much advance notice as possible will be provided.

Pay Grid Range: $21.98-$26.80
- This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by the Human Resources department. The starting pay listed reflects this position's minimum experience and education requirements. The top pay range represents the top of the pay grid for this position. It is rare for a candidate to enter this position at the top of the pay grid. Most candidates can expect to enter in the lower to middle section of the pay grid, depending on experience and education.
