Program Operations Analyst Intern

Information Services of Keck Medicine of USC is seeking students to join our team during a time of tremendous growth. We are looking for high-energy, curious, and enthusiastic students looking to apply classroom learning in an exciting, challenging, professional setting.  

The Program Operations Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the Information Services Internship & Residency Program while gaining hands-on experience in program administration, workflow optimization, recruitment operations, performance tracking, and process improvement. 

This role is ideal for a student interested in operations, analytics, workforce development, project coordination, and healthcare administration. The intern will gain exposure to how the IS internship program is managed while learning how operational processes align with department and organizational goals. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-focused, and interested in leveraging technology and automation tools to improve business processes. This position offers exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, reporting dashboards, recruitment operations, compliance tracking, program evaluation, and workflow automation initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Internship & Residency Program, including onboarding, offboarding, compliance tracking, evaluations, documentation, and program communications. 
  • Monitor program performance through dashboards, reports, and tracking systems; identify trends, maintain data accuracy, and provide insights to support decision-making. 
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including candidate screening, applicant tracking, recruitment events, and talent pipeline management. 
  • Support intern evaluations by tracking timelines, coordinating meetings, managing documentation, and monitoring completion of required deliverables. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance the intern experience through process optimization and data-driven recommendations. 
  • Assist with the design and implementation of workflow automations using Power Automate and other Microsoft technologies to reduce manual effort and streamline operations. 
  • Support internship events, on-site days, networking activities, and special projects that advance program goals and organizational initiatives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). 

 

Preferred Technical Skills 

  • Power BI 
  • Power Automate 
  • Excel reporting and data analysis 
  • SharePoint 
  • Microsoft Forms 
  • Basic workflow automation concepts 

 

General Program Requirements 

  • Student Workers are limited to 20 hours/week (40 hours/week while classes are not in session) and must not have any other jobs. 
  • Work a minimum of 12 hours/week (20 hours/week while classes are not in session) 
  • Must graduate May 2027 or later 

  

New hires must complete the following:   

  • TB test 
  • Drug screening 
  • Background check
