We are hiring a Wholesale Pastry Packager to join our team in downtown Portland.

Petunia's Pies & Pastries is a small, locally owned family business founded in 2009. We are a high-end, entirely gluten-free and vegan bakery business and handcraft our scrumptious sweets using only top quality, natural, fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Key Details:
- Pay: $17/hour + Tips ($4-5/hour in tips on average)
- Benefits: Medical/vision insurance (employees working 40+ hours), PTO, a staff discount and more!
- Schedule (first open position): Monday-Thursday approx. 2pm-6pm, or until finished packaging product
- Schedule (second open position): Tuesday & Wednesday approx. 2pm-6pm, or until finished packaging product
Responsibilities: This position serves an important role in our business, packaging and preparing our signature scratch made product to go out on wholesale deliveries to our many local retailers.
A typical shift may include:
- Packaging, dating and labelling baked goods for delivery.
- Using spreadsheets and carefully reading numbers to accurately pack each retailer's delivery.
- Pack items in cases, tape & label for each client's order.
- Closing down the bakery using checklists, performing stocking, cleaning and dishwashing duties.
- Following strict safety and sanitation protocols, along with all company policies.
- Supporting other team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: We look for employees who can communicate well and be kind to others, work efficiently and responsibly, and take pride and ownership in playing their part in the success of our small business. Other requirements include:
- Current Oregon Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Ability to learn, package a large volume of product and fulfill retailer's orders accurately.
- Ability to work autonomously or in teams.
- Ability to perform all job duties listed above with reliable attendance.
