Regional Manager
The Young People's Alliance is a bipartisan, youth-led nonprofit that organizes over 4,000 young people across 90 campuses to advocate for pragmatic solutions to the most pressing challenges facing our generation. We develop and pass innovative policy solutions to address challenges around affordability, economic opportunity, and community, with a particular focus on how technology is reshaping all three, to help young people reclaim the American Dream.
Our team has passed legislation in multiple states, mobilized tens of thousands of students to vote, and is a recognized leader on emerging issues like AI companions, social media design, and the future of work.
We are seeking five part-time Regional Managers in or near Raleigh, NC; Tallahassee, FL; Sacramento, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Austin, TX; Richmond, VA; and Lansing Michigan. Regional Managers will help lead legislative advocacy, organizing activations, and other campaigns in their region. This role is designed for the right candidate to grow into a full-time leadership role at YPA and become the face of YPA in their region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Advocacy Initiatives: Lobby elected officials, coordinate major campaigns, and testify on bills (approx 50% of time).
- Build YPA's Regional Presence: Form strong relationships with partner organizations, current and potential funders, reporters, and other influential stakeholders (approx. 25% of time).
- Mobilize YPA Members: Coordinate with campus chapters to involve students in advocacy, connect them to policy leaders, and plan statewide/regional activations (approx 25% of time).

Priority Regions:
We have a strong preference for candidates who are located in or can regularly travel (at least monthly) to the capital of one of our priority states. Travel will be reimbursed. Exceptional candidates who are outside of these areas will occasionally be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This role is the right fit for the following person:
- Current college student or recent graduate.
- Track record of high agency and self-direction.
- Experience in advocacy, organizing, policy, campus leadership, or political work; OR experience building clubs, startups, or organizations with a strong interest in politics.
- Able to balance this role with coursework and respond to urgent policy developments when they arise.
- Non-stop drive to build young people's political power
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours/week.
Compensation: $25/hour.
Timing: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a flexible start date of September 1, 2026. All new hires are evaluated under a 90-day probationary period.
