Testing Evaluation & Measurement Center (TEMC) 

Department Description:

The Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC) is dedicated to supporting students, faculty, and the community with testing and evaluation related needs. The TEMC is composed of four offices: Testing Lab Services; the Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities (ATSD) office; Scanning Services; and the Testing Center Round Rock (TCRR). By providing a variety of testing and scanning options with specialized equipment in a secure testing environment, it is our goal to support student persistence, reduce barriers to graduation, and support faculty research.

TCRR Work-Study Student Proctor

The Testing Center, Round Rock (TCRR) is seeking a motivated individual to support our department as a work-study eligible student proctor. The student proctor position is based in an office that handles confidential materials. TCRR serves Texas State students and the broader community with a variety of testing options in a secure and welcoming environment.  An ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is an effective problem-solver, thrives in a collaborative environment, is organized, and can effectively manage and prioritize tasks.

Job Duties:

Proctors are primarily responsible for checking in/out examinees, setting up/cleaning exam stations, and monitoring individuals who test at TCRR. Proctors are responsible for ensuring that all tests are secure, and that each student adheres to the TXST Honor Code or to the testing standards of the appropriate exam authority. Proctors may also serve as Readers or Scribes, whereby they read exams to examinees out loud, or record answers as dictated by the examinee. This position requires individuals to multi-task and pay attention to details. 

Qualifications:

Must be eligible for Work-Study financial aid. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit academic credit hours and maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Must be dependable, punctual and have good etiquette. Must have the ability to use good judgement, exercise discretion, and work independently and/or as a team member. Applicants must possess proficient computer typing skills as well as exceptional oral reading fluency.

Anticipated eligibility for work-study beyond Fall 27 - Spring 28 Academic Year to continue with us through the following semesters (including Summers) of their academic career.

Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and up to 20 hours during our business hours Monday through Friday: 8:00AM - 5:00PM with additional hours being available. 

 

Testing Center Supervisor at Round Rock Campus directly supervises this position.
