JOB SUMMARY
The Content Creator Intern supports the day-to-day execution of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation’s (KLC’s) organic social media strategy and content initiatives. Assists in content creation and tasks related to the KLC’s social media management working in close alignment with the Digital Media team.
This is a Part-Time position working at our Corporate Office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Expected hours are between 15-20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES
- Creates and executes content that supports organic social media initiatives including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube, including content creation, community management, and engagement tracking. Assists in development of monthly content calendars for posts in alignment with brand standards, product objectives, and KLC organizational pillars. Assists with analyzing platform performance data and engagement metrics.
- Collaborates with Digital Media team on development of creative content and assets in alignment with marketing goals, brand messaging, upcoming promotions, and customer engagement strategies. Ensures content is timely, relevant, and supports overall campaign goals. Explores social trends, identifying emerging platforms and looking for new opportunities to elevate KLC's message in a way that is relevant for organization’s diverse audience and brand.
- Monitors trends across social media and evaluates how they can be leveraged to align with respective platform objectives. Assists with community management across social platforms, including monitoring inboxes and comment sections identifying opportunities to provide helpful, informative, or clarifying responses.
- Assesses performance metrics of KLC content through analytics, preparing reports that outline key performance indicators and ROI on social media and vendor engagements.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in other marketing activities and provides general support for ongoing social media tasks and content organization as outlined by the Director of Digital & Media Strategies.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Some college education required – must be recently graduated or currently enrolled and pursing a degree in related field such as business, marketing, communications, or advertising.
- Experience with social media management, content creation, media planning, customer relationship management (CRM) marketing, digital advertising, and/or communications preferred.
- Experience with HTML or other web languages/software a plus.
- Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Must be able to convey messages clearly, persuasively, and with appropriate tone and style.
- Ability to research and analyze information and data to arrive at valid conclusions. This includes root-cause analysis, to build recommended corrective action plans.
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, , and social media platforms. Knowledge and experience with project management systems and analytical tools a plus.
- Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Must possess creative thinking skills, be adaptable to changing situations, and understand diverse audiences.
