Testimonials from our interns:

“This internship was an incredibly rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and impactful projects, including designing a 3D virtual tour, editing instructional videos, building a chatbot, and remediating courses to improve accessibility. One of the most valuable aspects of this internship was the supportive environment. My supervisor was exceptional, encouraging, knowledgeable, and always willing to provide guidance. The entire Instructional Design team was collaborative and welcoming, creating a space where I felt comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and growing professionally.

If you enjoy challenging yourself, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and thinking creatively to solve problems, this internship is an excellent opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.”

Raksa Ma (M.S. in Data Analytics, Class of 2026)

“My experience as an instructional design intern for K-State allowed me to build upon my classroom teaching experience in new and exciting ways. The internship gave me greater insight into building accessible online courses, meeting a variety of learner needs, and developing creative and interactive course design. An added benefit was getting to work with such an amazing and supportive team! I loved learning how to use new systems and software, collaborating with faculty, and gaining so many new experiences. I believe this internship contributed directly to my professional and personal growth as an educator.”

Amy Levin Plattner (Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Class of 2027)

“Through my experience as an Instructional Design Intern, I have gained many valuable insights about the creation of innovative mixed-method teaching materials – and their use-cases in varying instructional contexts. As a student interested in continuing in a career in higher education with a focus on hands-on teaching pedagogies, working on a team with diversity in project content helped expose me to teaching strategies outside of my educational background that I may not have encountered otherwise. I am grateful for my time on the Instructional Design team, and am excited to see how I deploy these skills in future contexts!”

Trevor Turner (Master of Architecture, Class of 2024, M.A. in Communication Studies, Class of 2026)
