Backend Python Engineer

Location: Jersey City, NJ / Arlington, VA / Boston MA

Duration: 6 Months

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Backend Python Engineer to build scalable cloud-native backend services for healthcare platforms. The ideal candidate has strong Python expertise, experience building distributed systems, and developing systems that integrate with Machine Learning models or Large Language Models (LLMs). You will develop secure, high-performance backend services while supporting modern healthcare data platforms.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop scalable backend services using Python.
  • Build cloud-native distributed systems and microservices.
  • Develop backend services integrating with ML models and LLMs.
  • Design secure REST APIs and backend components.
  • Optimize scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, ML engineers, and QA.
  • Follow CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production support best practices.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3–5 years of backend software development experience.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Cloud-native application design and development.
  • Experience integrating backend systems with ML models or LLMs.
  • REST APIs and Microservices.
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD.
  • SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • PHI / HIPAA-compliant data handling practices.
  • HL7 ADT message format knowledge.
  • Recent experience in Healthcare data domain.

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • FHIR interoperability.
  • Kafka or event-driven architecture.
  • Databricks or modern data platforms.
